Scriptural support – NT.
- Luke 1:33– The fulfillment of Isaiah 9:6-7 and the expansion of the “dominion mandate”—with the birth of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, and “his kingdom will never end”—has now arrived in human history.
- Mark 1:15– “the time is fulfilled . . . the kingdom of God is at hand.” What time?
- The time Daniel prophesied when “a huge mountain” [the kingdom] would fill “the whole earth” (Dan. 2:35, 44; 7:19-25).
- John 3:16-17 – “For God so loved the world . . . . but to save the world through him.”
- In one of the most quoted passages of the Bible, have we missed this point?
- That Jesus Christ came to save the whole world—and not just a sinner, here and there?
- He wants to save the world (kosmos)—lives, laws, institutions, and relationships! How do we only get salvation of souls from a postmortem hell out of this?
- Luke 4:18-19 – the Messiah’s job description and another restatement of the “dominion mandate.
- “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
- Again, how do we only get the salvation of souls from going to hell out of this?
- Matt. 5-7 – Known as The Beatitudes, it’s a “road map” to being “in Christ” and to doing his “works” and the “greater works.”
So much throughout the New Testament confirms the extension and expansion of the “dominion mandate” from the Old Testament and provides a massive and persuasive foundation for doing the “works” and “greater works,” as We have defined and presented them above. But the ultimate revelation in God’s Word of progressive revelation is found in the Bible’s last book of Revelation. Here, you will find the final and pinnacle supports for the “dominion mandate” and doing the works of Jesus and even greater works. We suggest you read them for yourself. And remember, the whole of this prophecy was fulfilled in the 1st century and has been just as relevant and applicable ever since (see again “Book of Revelation“).
